Hello!

I’ve been a teaching and performing flutist for 20 years. Lately, a lot has changed for me, as for all of us; since March I’ve been teaching lessons exclusively online. I miss seeing my students in person and I miss playing in orchestras and operas, but overall, teaching-wise, this has been a good experience! On-line lessons for me have been just as effective, and now that students have more time to practice, I’ve seen even more skill development than I would have expect during these normally very busy spring months. This is a good time for students to hone their craft and accomplish big things in their playing.

I believe that every person has the potential to make music and to create and enjoy art. Music grants us a pathway to artistic expression; through it we can understand others, communicate and fulfill our need to create. These lofty beliefs guide my teaching practice. In their service I use a combination of methodologies to tailor lesson plans for each student.

I’m a Certified Teacher of Music through the Music Teacher’s National Association as well as a trained Suzuki teacher. I also have a Master’s Degree in Music Performance specializing in flute. As a teacher I use everything, from the traditional, academic approach, to Body Mapping, to silly, fun Music Mind Games, to reach each and every student and help them realize potential as musicians. My hope is that through their study they can start to realize their potential as human beings as well.

I’m currently accepting students of all ages and ability with 1+ years previous experience for online lessons. I offer all prospective students a free 30 minute trial lesson. Please contact me at (702) 354-0312 for more information.
